What Customers Say About Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse (Black):

In my experience Microsoft mice always junk out after a couple months. My advice is to get a Logitech instead. Needless to say this is extremely annoying and intolerable on any mouse. My main problem is that the mouse has recently developed a double-clicking issue where I click only once yet the mouse outputs two clicks. Overall the construction is great except the feet have started to come off on the edges (and yes I DO use an adequately sized mouse pad). I have owned this mouse for about 6 months now and have played plenty of games on it. There is no sidescrolling on the wheel which is another minus for me. Yes I do play a lot of games where clicking is required but my Logitech G5 has lasted around 2 years now and is still going strong.

I love the look, I love the feel, I love the software that comes with it. And yes, I'm switching to Logitech. But even then the issue would come back in a few days, and now even that fix seems not to work.I love the DPI switching buttons. Maybe this would be an easy fix for someone out there, but not for me.

I'm off to buy a cheaper mouse with a better record on reliability. I took the money back, but I might get the Sidewinder X5 anyway because it's reviewed pretty well and has the DPI switching I love. Microsoft mice are out of the picture for me for a while. Not the result of a software setting anywhere, but seemingly a hardware issue that makes it so every 30 clicks more or less is a double click. It started a few months after I bought it. They offered to replace my Habu mouse with the Sidewinder X5, or give the money back. Thanks Microsoft. After scouring the internet for a fix, the only thing that ended up working was pressing the button down really hard. But none of that matters if the mouse itself doesn't work right.I am a web designer, so I need to be precise when working with software like Photoshop.

*not Lastly, I will say that I never tried opening the mouse to fix it, because I don't have the know how. Edit: Great support from Microsoft. Here is the review I made before:There is one issue with this mouse that trumps all the other cool stuff about it: Accidental double-clicks. The mouse performs great up until the issue pops up again.

But after about a month of normal PC gaming use the roller wheel broke. Feels cheep and broke like it was built cheep. But I did think it felt nice and played very nicely after everything was up and working. No chance.

Conclusion: Too expensive for the quality. Well I burn up my mice playing PC Games, FPS in particular, so the mouse is important to me. Software needs massive overhaul. First impression of the Habu was that the software sucks. Why. The logitech are tough, durable and precise. But no reason to beat a dead horse on that one. Looking inside the axle of the wheel is plastic (surprise) and sheered clean off.

Will I buy it again. I am going back to Logitech, G500 probably. I took a chance on the Habu thinking with who developed it maybe it will be good. Getting someone to replace it has been fun and unsuccessful up to this point.

you're stuck w/ a cheap sidewinder : / I called Microsoft support and after a few email exchanges and they informed me the the Habu had been discontinued and they were replacing them with Microsoft Sidewinder X5s. For some reason these mice have a hardware problem that causes them to double click after a period of use. then. I had this month little over a month and I loved it, it was comfortable, stylish, good precision. until it broke. and I hate that mouse because it feels like a cheap piece of crap.So in short, very good mouse until it breaks.

I tried a few forums, and emailing razer support 1 month ago, and still no answer. I havent found a way to fix it yet, i have another mouse connected that im using and i just see Habu turn on and off all day. 1st 2 weeks it worked great, excellent weight balance, sumer smooth, all you can ask for. After that it started to randomly turn on and off. It seems like the issue when you reset and you have to unplug and plug again but this issue is different, and of course if you go to microsoft they direct link you to razer and in razer the only support is the firmware/driver update that i already did and didn't work at all.
